“Retail is the theatre for a brand, so write the script, set the stage, and take the customer to another place”

Retail

The Retail sector needs to be prepared for both upturns and downturns – opportunities are present in both. Our company helps Directors and Executives make existing spaces work better and where possible create more space; we complete everything from refurbishment, re-modelling, modernisation, partition walls, mezzanine floors and new offices and floor space to bespoke building extensions. In other words, we improve your ability to respond effectively and efficiently to change. We understand that speedy, trouble-free and cost-effective completion is the only way that makes commercial sense and work hard to manage the impressions of your staff and customers throughout any works.

Case Study

Derby House Saddlery, Wigan

Create 4,500 sq. m of new retail space

Opportunity: The owners of Derby House sought to extend floor space by utilising the Courtyard at the centre of its retail operation and to allow for business expansion through the introduction of new brands and stock. The existing Courtyard area was effectively ‘dead’ space.

Activity: Davies was engaged to infill the entire courtyard area surrounded by the saddlery. Within the confines of the prevailing layout, Davies constructed a steel portal building creating additional and extensive retail floor space and storage areas. Davies worked sympathetically and flexibly with the client to ensure no loss of existing trade whilst works were underway.

Results: The saddlery floor space increased by 80% allowing for an increase in turnover, customer choice and an overall improved shopping experience.
